Sketch Club Event No.1

Thats right boys and girls, Bridewell Space have been kind enough to offer us a space for the sketch Club's 1st Event at 2:00pm Sunday 3rd March.

I wanted to do something where people have to interact with each others drawings in a imaginative, fun way and I use to frickin love playing Exquisite Corpse (Not as morbid as it sounds) as a kid. It's that game where one person draws a head, then covers it and passes to the next person who then draws the torso without knowing what the head looks like. You do this until you have the full figure drawn and do a big reveal at the end (example above) much laughter is had and everyone goes home happy. I want to do this but on a much larger scale. So I've got wallpaper that will be rolled out and used as the canvas. Should be a right laugh.

There will be some basic pens and pencils there but if you want to bring any fancy gear then feel free to bring it along.

It's VERY IMPORTANT that you take my number and phone it once your outside Bridewell Space as I'll need to come and let you in. My number is....

If you have any questions then feel free to ask on the number above or at tombonson@hotmail.com.

See you there!

Getting all loosey goosey!

A few characters using the looser technique I'm trying to develope.

Your Guide to Superheroes

Here are some illustrations from a book I just finished. Enjoyed doing this one as I tried abit more of a looser style where the working lines are still visible. It's my attempt at getting my stuff to look less digital and abit more handmade. It would be great to go back to hand painting my work but with all these tight deadlines it's real hard to do.

Bristol Sketch Club

I've recently moved to Bristol (hence the lack of Blog posts) and thought I'd give this idea ago....

I figured it would be a good way for meeting other arty types in the area. I want to get into doing informal meetings once a week around Bristol to sketch, doodle, facepaint who knows! We'll draw outside when the weather is good and inside when it's not. All for free of course. I'm sort of making this up as I go along, So once enough people have contacted me with an interest I'll maybe see what the general feel of the group is to better decide what we should do.

Piles of Pancakes

Here are a few scenes (text to be added) from a Children's book/iPad app I've been working on called, 'Piles of Pancakes'. I'm near the end of this project and am really interested to see the final iPad version of it as my illustrations will be animated and interactive.

Hello!

I've been a very busy bunny hence why there hasn't been any blog updates recently. I would put bits and pieces from the various commissions I'm working on up on here, but contracts, copyright and all that sort of guff means it's probably not a good idea. So I thought I'd put up a birthday card I did for my Granddad's 90th.

It's all kicking off!

Sincere lack of new work on the blog is due to a couple of big commissions I'm working on at the moment. More info soon....
